I started Intrepid Equipment in 2005, to provide the best and most affordable handcycles available. I got hooked on handcycling and skiing by adaptive sports centers, but when I looked into buying my own equipment I was horrified by the high cost, and limited innovation. I realized that I was probably not the only person who would like to own a handcycle, but for who the barriers were unacceptably high. So I decided to apply my engineering and product design experience to design a new generation of products, and start a company that would fix these problems so that other people in my position could experience the excitement of adaptive sports and recreation.
